Usher Board

Christ the King Usher Board was established in October 1989 under the leadership of I. Ranfurly Brown, rector of Christ the King, and first president, Mrs. Kathy Longley, whose goal was to enhance the smooth operation of the services conducted in the church.

Objective
To provide opportunities for its members to serve God in church as they worship, study, and give of their services and talents.

Activities:
The Usher Board of Christ the King meets once per month and assists in the duties of all the church’s services.
Responsibilities’ include

  • Ushering at all church services and the orderly collection of the offerings.
  • Escort guests and members to their seat.
  • Distribution of materials relating to the services such as hymn books, bulletins etc. 
  • Directing the congregation and visitors during the Holy Communion.
  • Presenting our guests with visitor’s cards.
  • The counting of all parishes’ that attend the services and partake in the Holy Communion.
  • The board’s uniform during the winter months and for all funerals is navy blue suits.
  • The uniform for the spring and summer months, are all white.

Usher Board Members are rotated on a monthly basis to participate in Sunday services - the reading of the scriptures and intercession during the10 a.m. corporate Sunday service.
The board holds its annual anniversary service every October along with causal Christmas social.

The usher board also comprise of a team of executive members who are expected to serve for two years. Each member of the board pays contribution dues of five dollars per month. Membership within the Usher Board is open to all congregant of the church.
