78th Nassau Company of Girls Guides

Girl guides
The 78th Nassau Company was established in April 2008 and is a member of the Bahamas Girl Guides Association (BGGA).

The aim of Girl Guiding is to provide girls and young women with the opportunities for self-training in the development of character, responsible citizenship, and service in their own and world communities.

Guiding is where girls will learn leadership skills, service, how to think for themselves, how to keep the law and become valuable contributing members of society. Guiding is where girls learn the necessary skills for life.

Meetings are held Saturdays at 11:00am to 1:00pm at Christ the King, Ridgeland Park West.

Sunflower Promise

The Sunflowers meet on Saturdays from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The girls come to Sunflowers at ages 5 to 6 years. This group has a 5-part Programme that encourages the girls to make friends, think, do things, care and play.

Brownie Guide Law

Brownie Guide Promise

The Brownies meet on Saturdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Brownie Guides are between the ages of 7 to 10 years. The Programme is arranged in eight categories to help girls encounter and develop a wide range of interests. Brownie Guides work towards badges as they journey through these categories.
As they work towards badges, Christ the King Brownie Pack go on trips around the island, meet persons from the community who speak on various issues, they cook, meet other Brownie Pack and go camping. Brownies HAVE FUN.

In 2008, the Guide Company started with four girls, and has since grown to ten girls who under the guidance of their leader are learning skills for life.

The Guides meet on Saturdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Guides are between the ages of 10 to 14 years. The Programme is arranged in eight categories to help girls encounter and develop a wide range of interests. Guides work towards badges as they journey through these categories.
Christ the King Guide Company while earning badges, explore the arts and the outdoors, get to know others through service, learn the think for themselves and cook.
